This is what Leonardo said (and I agree whole heartedly)
"For once you have flown...
you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards,
for there you have been and there you will long to return"
~ Leonardo da Vinci
(how the hell did he know, you may ask)
I'm an I.T. tutor living in sunny Devon, UK. I have always had a passion for flying, ever since I was a small boy. I used to envy the birds and as I sat on my garden swing I would look up at the planes on finals heading for Manchester airport. Then, they were mostly turbo prop, with their distinctive whining drone. Their wheels were down, and my imagination was up there with them.
When I was a teenager, I used to cycle to the airport and drool over the small cessnas that would be doing touch and go's, believing that I would never be able to afford to fly. The truth was, that I would achieve aviation before I could even drive a car.
At the age of 17 years old I discovered poor-mans aviation, hang gliding. From there I went on to microlights and finally my own trial flight in a cessna. I was hooked. Since then, I've flown in everything from two-seater helecopters to large commercial jets. I had realised my dream.
